Step 3

How the training works

Three practices a week, two hours each — for both programs. Every practice builds on the last: skills are layered, intensity rises, competition is added.

The training week

Day 1

Skill Block

Ball-handling, footwork, shooting mechanics under fatigue.

Day 2

Defense

Closeouts, weak-side rotations, communication drills at volume.

Day 3

Team Concepts

Spacing, reads, offensive structure and set execution.

Day 4

Live Competition

Scrimmage, scripted situations, film-style feedback on the floor.

Inside a 2-hour session

  • 0:00Warm-up & voices up
  • 0:15Individual skill work
  • 0:50Small-group / position blocks
  • 1:20Team concepts
  • 1:45Live competition & closeout

Who it's for

  • — Boys and girls, ages 5 to 18
  • — Beginners who want to be taught properly
  • — U14–U17 players ready for high-competition reps
  • — Athletes who can be coached hard and still lift teammates
  • — Families who back the standard away from the gym

The 13-week arc

Week 1

Moderate — technique first

Foundation & form

  • Stance, footwork and balance reset
  • Ball-handling with eyes up and weak hand pressure
  • Shooting mechanics without defense

Outcome: Every player leaves with a clean base they can repeat on their own.

Weeks 2–3

High — reps under fatigue

Skill stacking

  • Shooting off the move and off the catch
  • Passing reads on the drive and in transition
  • Closeouts, slides and weak-side help defense

Outcome: Skills start to stick under speed and pressure.

Weeks 4–6

Game speed — full possessions

Team structure

  • Offensive spacing, sets and read progressions
  • Defensive rotations and communication chains
  • Transition offense and transition defense

Outcome: Players think as a unit instead of playing one-on-one.

Weeks 7–10

Peak — Select scrimmages, Saturday games & tournaments

Live competition

  • Full-court scrimmages with film-style feedback
  • One Saturday game every week for select teams
  • 7 tournaments across the fall season for select teams

Outcome: Confidence to perform when the lights are on.

Weeks 11–13

Sharp — detail work and conditioning

Refinement & finish

  • Situation-specific corrections from coaches
  • End-of-fall-season conditioning and habits review
  • Personal next-step plan for every player

Outcome: Players finish stronger than they started, with a clear path forward.

Development · September 5, 2026 — March 1, 2027

Zero experience? Start here.

Our development program is built for beginners. If your child has never touched a basketball, they'll learn to dribble, pass, shoot and defend properly — taught step by step in small groups by Coach Jemaya and Coach Thamu. Kids U13 and under train with us for the whole winter block instead of trying out, and the ones who put in the work grow straight into the Select teams.

  • — No tryout, no cut: every kid gets a spot
  • — Grouped by age and skill so nobody gets lost
  • — Fundamentals first, competition added gradually
  • — Same Fist 5 standard, same coaching energy
  • $679 for September 5, 2026 — March 1, 2027 (15% off for 72 hours — was $799), split into 2 payments if needed

Why we ask for the winter commitment

01

Skills take months, not weeks

Shooting form, footwork and handles only stick with repetition. September to March is enough time for a beginner to build habits that hold up under pressure — a six-week camp isn't.

02

We build through the winter

Winter is when the real work happens. Committing to the full September 5 – March 1 block means your child trains straight through the off-season while most kids stop.

03

Groups stay together

We group kids by age and level and coach them as a unit. Players dropping in and out breaks the group, so we ask families to commit up front and stay for the block.

04

A real pathway into Select

The development block is the runway into our Select teams. Coaches track each player all winter, so by tryouts we know exactly who's ready to be selected.

Select players commit to a full year — September 5, 2026 — September 1, 2027 — at $299/month, billed monthly, with tournament fees separate.

Included with Select registration

The gear they keep

Select program players are issued a full JT Select kit — jerseys with their own name and number, and a team bag. No rentals, no returns. Development program players do not receive a jersey or bag.

JT Select cream and black basketball jerseys with player names and numbers

Home & away jerseys

Cream and black JT Select jerseys with player name and number, reversible-set quality. Issued to select program players — theirs to keep at the end of the fall season.

Black JT Select Nike team backpack with the club logo

JT Select team bag

Branded Nike team backpack with a vented lower shoe compartment and side bottle pockets. Issued to select program players — also theirs to keep.

What every player gets

Select program jersey to keep

Players selected to the select team receive a full JT Select jersey. It's theirs at the end of the fall season — no returns, no rentals.

Select program team bag to keep

A branded team bag included with select program registration, also theirs to keep.

6 hours of training a week

Three practices a week, two hours each — roughly 84 hours of coached basketball across the fall season.

7 tournaments

Seven tournaments across the fall season for the select teams. Tournament schedule is disclosed at tryouts.

Saturday games — Select + Development exhibitions

Select teams play a live game every Saturday; Development players get Saturday afternoon exhibition games so everyone competes weekly, not just practice.

Coached by the founders

Coach Jemaya and Coach Thamu are on the floor — skill blocks, defensive habits, live reads and real feedback.

Built on the Fist 5

Communication, Trust, Collective Responsibility, Pride and Caring — habits players carry off the court.
